Hazaribag: On Tuesday, the Training Centre and the School of the Border Security Force (BSF) Hazaribag and the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Ranchi signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish hi-tech physiotherapy units in the region.  The plant will be established within the Meru camp of the BSF which is 11 km distant in Hazaribag city.

In this connection, a communique made by the BSF indicated that CCL will donate modern physiotherapy equipment and other medical supplies to the hospital within the training centre and school premises as a measure of corporate social responsibility.

All BSF hospitals are committed to offer healthcare services to local residents as per govt guidelines as part of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Currently, the training centre and the school hospital serve almost 5,000 patients in a year. Many of these cases are of orthopaedic cases and other complications connected with the physical aspects. Because of equipment shortage, a good number of patients will be redirected to other hospitals. BSF said in a statement, that there was an urgent demand of physiotherapy base to address the needs of orthopaedic patients and post-surgery patients.
