DUSU elections: ABVP, NSUI confront each other in last day of campaigning at Kirori Mal College.

On Tuesday, which was the final campaigning day in the election of the Delhi University Students- Union (DUSU), student groups, NSUI, and ABVP came into an exchange at the Kirori Mal College of the Delhi University.

The confrontation erupted just before the visit of Congress leader Ajay Rai to the campus to do campaigning on behalf of NSUI-affiliated candidates.

NSUI claimed that the members of the ABVP, the student body of the RSS, assaulted its supporters in Purvanchal so as to end the programme.

ABVP did not give an immediate response to the allegations.

This is a clear indication of how much ABVP does not like a Purvanchal student, does not like how NSUI is getting all the support, and then the congress backed student organization, said this.

Before visiting the campus, Ajay Rai had posted a video message promising customers that he was standing with the group.

The huge backing NSUI is getting shakes ABVP. Their fear is evidenced by the violence in KMC. I am coming to be with you, he said.

The NSUI criticized the incidence terming it as hooliganism and claimed that such acts would be met with reaction by power of votes by the students.

The aftermath of the clash was police being deployed on campus.

DUSU elections will be held on September 18 and the result will be counted the following day.
