ED Summons Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, and Sonu Sood in Online Betting App Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has recalled the former cricketers Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh, as well as actor Sonu Sood, to question them in a restrained laundering case associated with an unlawful web-based betting application, officials announced on Tuesday.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has called on former cricketers Robin Uthappa (39), Yuvraj Singh (43), and actor Sonu Sood (52) to take the oath next week under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to record their version of the alleged illegal betting site 1xBet.
Sonu Sood, Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa are called on on the 22, 23 and 24 of September respectively.
Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan are former cricketers whom the ED questioned already in the course of the investigation in recent weeks.
Monday saw the agency interviewing the statement of a former TMC MP and actor, Mimi Chakraborty, and as of Tuesday, Bengali actor Ankush Hazra had been before investigators.
The brand South Indian actor Urvashi Rautela, the brand ambassador of 1xBet in India, had not yet been spotted despite being invited to the same day, sources said.

The crackdown is related to the so-called rogue betting applications that deceived investors to hand over rupees crores and even avoid huge tax bills.

The company claims that 1xBet is a worldly renowned bookmaker that has operated in the betting business and has been in the market for 18 years, via its online platform and app, bets on thousands of sport every year, which platforms are supported on 70 different languages.
